Norup + Wilson’s The Beach Shack Scarborough development is nearing completion, with removal of the scaffolding revealing an extraordinary facade unlike any apartment development in Western Australia.
Infused with a coastal theme, no expense has been spared to produce the sensual design reflecting the unique Scarborough Beach lifestyle.
This is evident the moment you walk through the entrance and see the textured wall panels, curved window reveals and private lounge suites surrounding a stone-clad fireplace.
Arriving from the beach and accessing your new home’s backyard using a waterproof wrist band, you pass the outdoor shower before accessing the surf board storage area and wash-down zone.
This zone has lockers and private shower facilities, while an array of outdoor living lounges with gas fire pits and barbecue areas make entertaining visitors easy.
Complementing the quality of the internal and external finishes, Norup + Wilson Director Dave Wilson said the apartments had been designed to appeal to the owner-occupier market, with the development exhibiting incredible attention to detail.
Some of the more noticeable details are the recessed door thresholds, off-form concrete-textured soffits, external hydrophobic paint, custom decals on the development’s double-glazed openings and each apartment enjoying high ceilings and 2.4m doors throughout.
The Beach Shack is the largest project in Australia to have used the hydrophobic paint system.
“Having a hydrophobic paint system that helps the building shed itself from the sand and salt crystals is essential,” Mr Wilson said. “It was the natural choice for The Beach Shack, as it directly adjoined the dune area.”
Other unique features include biometric front door locks, extensive security including CCTV in key common areas, internal finishes which include Italian-made floor-to-ceiling tiles, car charging access to car bays and mirrors with Bluetooth speakers.
The Beach Shack will have its own app from which residents can control services, extensive surfboard and surf ski storage and low strata fees.
